Windows Live Clipboard: Wiring the web

At the O'Reilly Emerging Technology conference today, Ray Ozzie announced the latest Windows Live service: Windows Live Clipboard. Put simply it is a clipboard for the web, allowing the copying and pasting of structured data to and from websites. In Ray's words it provides a "simple and consistent user model to wire-the-web that would assist individuals in creating their own mesh of interconnections – both web-to-web and web-to-PC."

So where can we expect to see this new service? Obvious choices within Windows Live would include live.com, Live Favorites, Live Calendar (which forms part of Live Mail)and Live Contacts, however should this prove popular with 3rd party developers, it could become as widely used as the new feed icon.

Ray links to some nice webcasts, however if you want to see what all the fuss is about, head over to the demonstration page.
