I understand it now.

If this is the case for when the betas are finally released I will be very disappointed! If they develop that design for Windows Live Messenger then they could easily develop it for these applications as well! It wouldn't take much time because they already have the core user interface on Windows Live Messenger.

Also if the user interface of the products end up like this, I doubt we will see integration of the coloured display picture borders which show your status - something I think would be good across all Windows Live software & services.

Finally, I love using Windows Live Mail at the moment because of the great user interface. If they change it for this really bland one, it will definately affect my user experience - this design is a step backward!

Only Messenger is getting the Wave 3 header, including customisation. The other suite applications are getting the glassy Windows Vista look like you see above.

The reason why Mail didn't have this look is because it was an XP shot, not a Vista shot.

Of course this kind of feedback is what you have betas for :)

WLPG could use some instant photo effects (like Picnik), a real fancy slideshow maker, more image editing tools, and the ability to publish to more popular photo-sharing sites (SmugMug, Facebook, MySpace, etc.).

It needs to be more competitive against Google's Picasa.

It looks nothing like Windows Live Messenger 2009 M2 & nothing like the Wave 3 previews of Windows Live Mail we have seen.

I really do hope these are not the final UIs of the products, if they are Microsoft have messed up big time! They promised us consistnecy!!! :@

They've got rid of the glassy section and removed loads of icons! Looks like there's *still* no colour customisation either... and the new Wave 3 header isn't there. In all, a complete mess. This had better not be the final UI.
